From our Associate Pastor

Hey Crosspoint Bluewater!

What a crazy busy week it’s been! Immediately after worship services this past Sunday, Crosspoint kicked it into high gear as we hosted the second-ever Annual Conference in the new Alabama / Emerald Coast Conference of the Global Methodist Church (GMC). For those, not familiar,  this is the annual business meeting of all the GMC churches in southern Alabama and northwest Florida. It was a great opportunity to showcase our church and demonstrate radical hospitality. There was fabulous, spirit-filled worship, top-notch preaching, and great food and fellowship. I had the privilege of being ordained on Monday evening, along with Taylor Nixon and Meredith Freeman! Thank you for all your support and kind words! And thank you to everyone who volunteered during the conference to make it a great success.

At the same time, we’re spinning up for the end of the school year and our graduating senior banquet, Mission Northwest for our students, Launch 56 for our rising 5th and 6th graders, Launch 9 for our rising 9th graders, and then Vacation Bible School! You can register for these events on our website. Who said we would slow down and relax for the summer??? And that’s not all! We also have several mission trips happening, as well as, all the regularly scheduled week-to-week and month-to-month activities. We have Mother’s Day this weekend (hopefully this isn’t the first time you realized this—if so, there’s still time to get Mom a card!), Memorial Day, and then Father’s Day in just a few weeks. Before you know it, football practices will start, and it’ll be back-to-school time. Yikes!

Our lead pastor, Jeremy Smith, often points out that when you start following God on the path he’s leading, you’re going to have to sprint to keep up! That’s what feels like is happening here at Crosspoint. God’s revealing multiple opportunities for us to make disciples and clear the obstacles. And I’m continuously impressed to see the many people who step up and help when the call goes out. It energizes my spirit when I see God moving and knowing we all have played a role in his mission.

I want to close with a heartfelt shout-out to all our moms and mother figures! Thank you for all you do and have done for us. You all are loved, appreciated, and treasured, even if we don’t do a great job of letting you know. Bless you all and have a Happy Mother’s Day!

I Look forward to seeing you on Sunday!
