From our Lead Pastor

You may not know this, but our church hosted the 2nd ever Annual Conference of the Alabama-Emerald Coast Conference of the Global Methodist Church (that’s a lot to type – ha) this past Sunday night – Tuesday afternoon, and it went off better than I could’ve expected. We knew when we said “yes” to hosting it that the staff and volunteers of Crosspoint could pull it off better than it had ever been done, so I had high expectations, and it exceeded my expectations! I could not be prouder to be a part of this team and this church. So many people told me this was the best Annual Conference they had ever attended.

I had multiple pastors tell me they came in spiritually depleted but are leaving filled; remembering why they got into ministry in the first place. Y’all, when God brings spiritual renewal in a pastor like that, there’s no telling what God will do through them when they go back! And who knows how many others are leaving with that same refreshing and renewal. God did that through the prayers, presence, and efforts of the people of Crosspoint!

It was an amazing time of Spirit-filled worship services, great fellowship, and helpful equipping sessions. The highlight was the ordination service Monday night where 3 of our Crosspoint staff were ordained: Taylor Nixon, Mike Vlk, and Meredith Freeman! Thank you to all the staff and volunteers who welcomed, cooked, cleaned, planned, led, and served to make this happen, with excellence that exceeded everyone’s expectations!

My other favorite part of the conference was our church being able to kick off our 500 Communities of Faith part of the 2035 Dream by announcing ways we are now able to help Global Methodist Churches, in particular, start a disciple-making movement where they are. I preached about disciple-making Sunday night, and then Jagger Eastman and I led a breakout session on Monday and Tuesday about it as well. The response was overwhelming, and our goal of helping 500 communities of faith being a disciple-making movement in their town is well on its way now.

Overall, I want to say a big THANK YOU to all who served and prayed to make this happen! I’m so thankful to be a part of a church like this!
