From Our Associate Pastor
Whoever came up with the idea of Mother's Day was a genius! Thank you! All mothers thank you! We love to be celebrated! But it was God who came up with the idea of motherhood. So, we thank Him because we all have a mother.
On Sunday we’ll be celebrating all moms, even our own! All women, no matter their particular status, will receive a gift from the church and we’ll have fresh baked “muffins for mom” in the Café.
Whether you are a biological, adopted or surrogate mom we love you! We celebrate our future moms, and we celebrate the women of the church who nurture and love on kids, students and one another. God created women and we have a special role in his ministry. Womanhood and motherhood are big parts of our “unique roles in God’s mission”.
See you Sunday, ladies! Men and kids, make sure you get your wife/mom to church so we can help you honor and bless her.
Since I’m sort of the “church mom” I’ll expect a few extra hugs myself. But do come on out to Portable 1 to attend Discover Crosspoint at 9:30 a.m. We have muffins for mom out there, too, and Kids Ministry for your children.
Lisa Ausley, Associate Pastor

MAY PRESCHOOL FOCUS: GOD LOVES ME
This month is all about introducing preschoolers to God – the One who loves them with a love that lasts forever. When it comes to preschoolers and what they know about God, there are a few faith skills we want to make sure they have in their little red wagon. We want every child to know that they can hear from God, pray to God, talk about God to others, and live for God. We hope they will pull these faith skills around, wherever they go, for the rest of their lives. Then they can go with confidence because they have the faith skills needed for whatever comes their way

MAY ELEMENTARY FOCUS: TRAINING CAMP - TRAIN, PRACTICE, GROW
Commitment is part of God’s nature and how God interacts with us, keeping promises and putting plans into action. God’s commitment to us is just one of the many reasons we can trust God no matter what. And because God’s promises and plans came true in Jesus, we can be with God forever. We reflect God’s character when we make a plan and stick to it. This month, we’ll help kids discover that one of the best plans they can make is to commit to an ongoing relationship with Jesus. We hope they commit to practicing their faith by reading God’s Word, praying to God honestly and consistently, talking about God with others, and living for God in how they show love throughout the everyday.
